Welcome to the RJC History Home Page!
The purpose of this page is to give prospective students an idea of what it is like to study History at RJC, from the people directly involved in the teaching and learning of the subject. We hope the following pages will help you gain a clearer picture of what we offer here, what is expected of you, and of some of the people you'll be learning with.
The detailed syllabus is available here for your reference, as well as past-year exam results.
For an overview of how History is taught, the Lessons page provides examples of lectures and study materials, as well as students' comments on tutorials and a list of web resources.
The Essays page has several student essays and book reviews to give you an idea of what is expected of you, as well as samples of examination questions.
On the Opportunities page you will find out how studying History in RJC can enrich you, whether through extra-curricular activities, Special Papers or in the not-too-distant future.
Finally, the Teachers page will introduce you to the charming purveyors of knowledge you will be in close contact with, in your brief tenure at RJC.
Needless to say, we won't be able to answer all of your questions here, but at the very least we can give you an introduction and — you know where we are! — please get in touch if you want to know more.
