An All-Round Music Education
The course integrates stylistic
harmony with aural training, composition and performance on a
first-study instrument. It also includes a broad study of Asian
Music as well as an in-depth study of a Western topic.
Special Interests
The Higher Music Project gives students opportunities to work on special areas of musical interest. The students choose to either submit a research paper on an Asian Music topic or to perform on a second-study Asian instrument.
Extensive Facilities and Resources
Extensive facilities and resources include music studios, practice rooms, pianos (including two grand pianos), other musical instruments, synthesizers, composition work stations, music software, recording equipment, as well as our very own music library.
Further Enrichment
Masterclasses, guest lectures, student composition workshops and concerts, and music career seminars are regular features of the course. Excursions and field trips to local and overseas destinations are also conducted. Since 1997, the students have gone on enrichment and performance trips to Vienna and Paris.
