Raffles Junior College is the only college in Singapore that offers the Japanese Language Elective Programme. The Programme helps students to develop advanced proficiency in the language, and to further their studies in Japanese tertiary institutions with the necessary language skills and cultural awareness.
Comprehensive Facilities and Training
The college features a large air-conditioned Japanese language classroom complete with a well-stocked Japanese library. The course, conducted by a native Japanese teacher, covers not only the Japanese language, but also the history, economics and comtemporary social issues relevant to Japan.
Enrichment Activities
In addition to classroom teaching, students visit local Japanese schools and interact with visiting Japanese students, lecturers and members of Japanese organisations. They also have access to a variety of cultural performances and activities.
Immersion Programme
One of the key highlights of the course is the Immersion Programme, which allows students to experience first hand the life and culture in Japan through a series of homestays and tours.
